Lucas Wilkinson and Tiggy Cameron enjoying the 40cms of fresh snow down in the VillageOver 70cms of fresh snow has fallen in Thredbo overnight with 40cms down in the Village. Freezing temperatures hitting -8 °C across the resort has resulted in beautifully light, wind-blown snow with some of the best conditions Thredbo has seen this season.

The snow is expected to continue falling throughout the day before clearing off tonight to reveal a sunny and clear end to the week. This fresh snow will see more terrain and lifts open by the weekend with 100% of the resort only days away.

Conditions don’t get any better and this weekend is set to be the best of the season – and with 59 per cent of people still yet to discover the magic of a snow holiday, according to new research from OmniPoll, there’s no better time to hit the slopes.

The 2016 National Winter Report, commissioned by Thredbo Resort, has challenged the universally held belief that Australia is a country of summer obsessed sun lovers. The findings (detailed below and attached) suggest we actually prefer the cooler winter months, with the love affair even more widespread in the younger generation.
