Wales is home to some of the most stunning landscape in the UK and drivers often comment on how good the Welsh roads are. A new website launched by three independent Welsh hotels, aims to not only showcase the magnificent scenery of Mid and North Wales but also highlight the levels of excellence at these award winning hotels, all in three areas of outstanding beauty.
‘Driving Wales’ brings together Bodygallen Hall (Llandudno), Llangoed Hall (Brecon) and Ynyshir Hall (Machynlleth) and their surrounding hills, coasts and nature. The site offers drivers insight into hidden, romantic and undiscovered spots close to each property allowing drivers to delve deeper into Wales discovering spots not often easy to find. At the same time, ‘Driving Wales’ is a showcase of all three hotels and how each has shaped the hospitality industry. All three have won the AA Hotel of the Year for Wales award consecutively in the last three years; Bodysgallen Hall in 2012-2013, Llangoed Hall in 2013-2014 and Ynyshir Hall in 2014-2015.
The hotels are about two hours drive from each other and a suggested route is starting at Llangoed Hall in the Wye Valley, surrounded by the Black Mountains in Mid Wales, driving onto Ynyshir Hall by the Cambrian Mountains and the Dovey Valley before driving north to Bodysgallen Hall close to Snowdonia.
Llangoed Hall is located in the heart of Wales, formally known as Llangoed Castle it dates back to 1632. The hotel is surrounded by rolling hills and the spectacular snow-topped Black Mountains.
Ynyshir Hall was once Queen Victoria’s hideaway and is located between the sea and mountains. The hotel backs onto the RSPB Ynys-hir Reserve, the beautiful Dovey Valley and Artists Valley which inspired Led Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’.
Bodysgallen Hall is part of the National Trust and stands in over 200 acres of its own parkland to the south of Llandudno, with spectacular views of Snowdonia. Bodysgallen lies at the heart of so much history with Conwy, Caernarfon and Harlech Castles close by.
Each hotel is home to an award winning restaurant, all using local produce and all home to their own kitchen gardens where fruit and vegetables are grown and used throughout the year.
‘Driving Wales’ will soon add stories from selected automotive enthusiasts about their experiences driving between and staying at the three hotels.
For remarkable views of incredible natural beauty across Wales, Llangoed Hall, Ynyshir Hall and Bodysgallen Hall combine to showcase the very best drives. Each hotel offers luxury accommodation and fine dining and members of staff are happy to share their personal tips and insights into the surrounding areas around each hotel.
