TIA welcomes the New Zealand Story

The New Zealand Story is an exciting initiative that will help the country’s exporters tell a compelling, consistent story about New Zealand and help them gain a competitive advantage internationally, says the Tourism Industry Association New Zealand (TIA).

The New Zealand Story, led by Tourism NZ, NZ Trade & Enterprise and Education NZ in collaboration with public and private sector organisations, was launched in Wellington today.

“Congratulations to everyone who has been involved in bringing this exciting project to fruition over the past 12 months,” says TIA Chief Executive Martin Snedden.

“It provides Kiwi businesses working internationally, including tourism operators, with a toolkit of film, imagery and messages that they can use to tell an authentic and aspirational New Zealand country story. It will help set New Zealand apart from the competition and ensure that each sector is reinforcing the work of the others to the benefit of all.”

Mr Snedden says the New Zealand Story complements the Tourism 2025 growth framework which aims to help the $23.9 billion tourism industry achieve strong, durable long-term economic growth.

“Tourism 2025 is focused on driving economic growth and delivering an outstanding visitor experience. The New Zealand Story supports our goals by promoting not just our country’s natural beauty, but attributes that are very applicable to tourism, including innovation, resourcefulness, our unique Maori culture, and Kiwis’ integrity and welcoming approach.”
