Tigerair Australia Celebrates Flying 13 Million Passengers! Over 13,000 Seats On Sale!

Tigerair Australia today celebrates flying its 13 millionth passenger since domestic operations first commenced in November 2007, with a week-long sale on from midday (AESDT) today featuring more than 13,000 domestic seats on sale.

Tigerair Australia Head of Communications, Vanessa Regan, says this is a significant milestone for the airline which is embarking on an exciting growth phase over the coming months.

“Tigerair is gearing up for the launch of five new routes and the commencement of our new Brisbane base, including two new aircraft for Australia, taking our fleet from 11 currently to 13. All in all this means more domestic flights from Tigerair than ever Sidebar-Article-Banner-250before over the coming year so we can expect to reach the next major passenger milestone in record time,” she said.

Mr Mathew Horsman, from Adelaide, who is travelling with his son to Melbourne on flight TT485 Adelaide (10:15am) to Melbourne (midday) today, will be met by Tigerair management on arrival into Melbourne at midday and presented with his travel voucher for $1,300.00.

Mr Horsman said he’s thrilled to be Tigerair’s 13 millionth passenger.

“I’ve never won anything like this before. I travel between Adelaide and Melbourne regularly on Tigerair, mostly to visit my partner, friends and family and this couldn’t come at a better time. My partner recently moved to Adelaide and she has family in Melbourne and in Sydney so we will definitely make good use of the travel voucher this year,” he says.

With Tigerair’s new Adelaide services launching on 11 March (from Brisbane and Sydney) the airline will be adding more than 70% additional visitor seats through South Australia annually, providing even more reasons for Adelaideans to see more of Australia for less.

To celebrate, the airline has today put over 13,000 seats on sale starting from just $41.95* to travel each way between Adelaide and Melbourne.
