Tigerair is launching a cut-price sale from noon (AEST) today (Wednesday 27 July 2016) which runs through until noon this Saturday 30 July unless seats sell out beforehand.
Dubbed a “Christmas in July” sale, it features prices from AUD 15. That’s a one-way Light Fare, on which additional charges apply for optional extras such as checked-in baggage, travel insurance and reserved seat selection.
The AUD 15 fare applies each way on several routes, including Adelaide-Melbourne, Melbourne-Coffs Harbour, Sydney-Coffs Harbour and Gold Coast-Sydney.
All Tigerair’s 21 domestic and international routes are involved.
Here are the fares:
|Route (both ways)||Travel Period 2017||Fares from||Seats available|
|Adelaide < > Melbourne||1 Feb – 29 March||AUD 15*||600|
|Melbourne < > Coffs||1 Feb – 29 March||AUD 15*||400|
|Sydney < > Coffs||3 Feb – 27 March||AUD 15*||300|
|Gold Coast < > Sydney||1 Feb – 29 March||AUD 15*||800|

“Our customers prefer to spend less on their fare and have more in their pocket when they get to where they are going,” she said yesterday.
“Not only is Tigerair affordable, we’re proud to be delivering on the promise of consistent delivery of reliable and on time services coupled with the lowest cancellation rate of all the major domestic airlines since January 2015.”
Latest statistics released by the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) bear Regan out. Tigerair is well ahead of rival Jetstar in the punctuality stakes.
The small print (below) is also interesting. As well as credit card booking fees, Tigerair charges payments made using PayPal a per-flight per-person booking and service fee (AUD 4 for domestic and AUD 6 for international).
*All fares are subject to availability and may vary until ticketed. Prices are based on a one way economy Light Fare. Light Fares are per person in AUD and include GST. International fares departing Denpasar may vary with the addition of local taxes and charges. Add a per person, per flight, booking and service fee when booking using credit cards and some debit cards (AUD 8.50 for domestic and AUD 12.50 for international). Add AUD 15 when booking domestic travel by phone or at the airport.
Add AUD 30 when booking international travel by phone or at the airport. The booking and service fee does not apply to payments made using Australian-issued MasterCard debit cards. Payments made using PayPal will be charged a per flight per person booking and service fee (AUD 4 for domestic and AUD 6 for international). Fares are non-refundable. Bookings may be changed by paying the fee and any applicable fare difference in accordance with our conditions of carriage , as published on our website on the day you request your change. Prices are based on a one way economy Light Fare.
For Light Fares, additional charges apply for optional extras such as checked-in baggage travel insurance and reserved seat selection. Flights between Australia and Denpasar are operated by Virgin Australia International providing a Tigerair Australia service. Other conditions apply.
