Tigerair Sarah Entourage Roars Into Sunshine Coast Aboard TT Flight Sarah

This weekend, 10 lucky girls called Sarah will take off from Melbourne with 150 of their closest friends aboard Tigerair’s newly branded A320 aircraft: “Sarah”.

The VIP entourage will be flown to Maroochydore Airport on their special flight and will spend the weekend celebrating on the Sunshine Coast.

The winners each received the most Facebook votes from their social community during Tigerair’s recent “Name On A Plane” competition and as a result won a seat for themselves and 15 of their mates on the personally branded private flight.

Tigerair Australia’s Commercial Director Carly Brear says naming one of their planes after a dedicated fan is very fitting.

“Tigerair is the real airline for real people and that’s why we wanted to create a promotion for the people. Our Aussie fans flocked to Facebook. Thousands of people voted to see their friend’s name splashed across one of our aircraft. The response was overwhelming and we are thrilled to be able to offer the Sarah VIP entourage an experience of a lifetime!”

The Sarah’s certainly think so and are very keen to see their name on a plane.

“The competition was a great idea by Tigerair to get the public involved. But winning it… I was stoked and it made it even better that I could have my family and best friends come along to share this experience with me,” says Sarah Chippett.

“Tigerair’s name on a plane competition was one competition I just had to enter; I mean who wouldn’t want a plane named after them! I can’t wait to with the other winners as TT SARAH takes off on her first flight to the Sunshine Coast,” says Sarah Mills. “I often look up in the sky and think to myself ‘oh how I wish I was on that plane’. Now all I will be thinking is I wonder if that’s my plane!”

Simon Ambrose Chief Executive Officer of Sunshine Coast Destination said “We look forward to welcoming the top ten Sarahs and their friends to the naturally refreshing Sunshine Coast.

“This competition has provided terrific promotional exposure for the region via social media and we are pleased to be selected as the destination for the winners to visit. The group will stay at Novotel Twin Waters Resort, have time to explore the region and also visit Australia Zoo.”

“As the regional tourism body we continue to work closely with our partners Sunshine Coast Airport and Tigerair on initiatives to drive more visitors from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast,” added Mr Ambrose.

The group will relax at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort and among their weekend highlights will be visiting the iconic Sunshine Coast Australia Zoo to meet the resident Tigers.
