Tilal Liwa Hotel, a secluded hideaway leisure resort perched on the edge of Rub Al Khalil Desert in Abu Dhabi’s Empty Quarter, joined the entire nation in the celebration of UAE Flag Day by raising the flag at the hotel.

Led by General Manager Khaled Sharabassy, the team proudly held the flag which signifies the anniversary of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan becoming the president of the UAE in 2004. The team celebrated this important date to show their pride as residents of the UAE.

“The UAE flag represents justice, peace, tolerance, power and moderation under which all Emirates live a decent life and enjoy security and stability. We are proud to be living in the Emirates and enjoy the same benefits. Our sincerest appreciation to our leaders and we salute them for their vision and for making the UAE a great country,” added Sharabassy.

In addition to raising the UAE flag, the hotel was also decorated with the UAE colours in a show of unity.

The UAE Flag Day is a national occasion launched in 2013 by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to honour the country’s past, present and future and remember the efforts of the founders of UAE, the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brothers who sacrificed everything for the sake of their nation. It is a day when the national spirit is renewed, and an occasion to reflect on the achievements of the era of Shaikh Khalifa.
