In striking fashion, Australia’s Melbourne Watch Company has released a new watch collection, entitled Flinders Heritage. http://www.itb-asia.com/press/media-services/accreditation/

Ticking along with the tradition of naming collections after well-known elements of Melbourne culture, the collection pays tribute to Flinders Street Station. The recognisable landmark is often established as a meeting place for visitors, with “meet you under the clocks” regarded as a quintessential Melburnian expression.

Taking cues from the brand’s original Flinders collection, the Flinders Heritage collection pays homage to Melbourne’s iconic station, with an intricate engraving of the facade on the case back. The Heritage reflects a simpler, back-to-basics design, offering a slimmer, lighter case for added comfort on the wrist. The defining conversion of the Flinders Heritage is that it features a ‘small seconds’ Swiss quartz mechanism, allowing for more accuracy and minimal maintenance.

Keeping in time with evolving fashion trends, the Flinders Heritage collection offers five style options; the Modern, Modern Rose, Navy, Black or Classic. Each watch presents a different combination of case material, dial and hands, plus watch staps made from quality Nappa leather in black or brown.

Since 2013, Melbourne Watch Company’s primary focus has been creating quality, accessible watches for men, however findings suggest that styles for women are just as important – the catalyst behind designing the slimmer fitting Flinders Heritage style.

“Our data shows that year to date women have made up for just over 25% of our overall sales” says Melbourne Watch Company Founder Sujain Krishnan.

“Whilst the Flinders Heritage isn’t a women’s model specifically, we feel that it makes a great unisex style given the popular 40mm case size and slim profile.”

The Flinders Heritage Modern Rose is proving popular with its rose gold-plated case material, white dial and classic blue hands.

“We can safely say that the Modern Rose has outperformed the other styles, making up 35% of Flinders Heritage sales so far,” says Sujain.

Those wanting to create more impact on their wrist can opt for the Navy with its navy blue dial and silver hands. Alternatively, for something simple yet sophisticated, watch enthusiasts can opt for the Black, featuring a black dial and silver hands.

For a contemporary take on an old favourite, the Modern possesses a stainless steel case, white dial and blue hands, and the Classic speaks for itself, featuring a minimalist white dial and black hands.

The Flinders Heritage watch styles retail for $450 AUD and are available to be shipped locally or internationally.

Things are growing rapidly for the Melbourne Watch Company, with a dedicated Showroom in Carlton and stockists based in Sydney, Singapore, California, NY and the UK. The brand will also be popping up at this year’s renowned Worn & Wound WindUp Watch Fair in New York. The company has struck a style chord in Australia and overseas, reaffirming that this home-grown label is certainly one to watch. For further information, visit www.melbournewatch.com.au.
