Time Launches Mentoring Program For Industry Leaders

  • Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME) launches new Executive Mentoring Program.
  • TIME’s 24th graduating group acknowledged in Sydney.

At a function acknowledging the graduates of its 24th mentoring intake at Rydges Sydney Central last night, TIME launched its Executive Mentoring initiative – one seen as an important extension of TIME’s renowned industry mentoring program.

Since 2009, hundreds of ambitious mid-level travel industry executives have accelerated their careers through the TIME program. TIME’s new Executive Mentoring Program, however, is aimed at Managers, Managing Directors, even C-Suite executives already working in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.

The Executive Program is structured to provide:

  • A confidential environment for executives to explore ideas and to self-reflect
  • Opportunities to gain deeper insight and understanding
  • Deeper and more varied strategic perspectives
  • Improved management of diverse stakeholder interests
  • Greater clarity of organisational goals
  • More effective interpersonal relationship skills
  • Continuing personal development of leaders, both current and future

Part of TIME’s success to date has been its ability to bring intense focus on applicable Mentor experience and skillsets to achieve agreed Mentee goals. That same Mentor-Mentee compatibility will underpin the Executive Program to facilitate the exchange of advice and perspective.

“While coaching and mentoring share some similarities, mentoring provides career guidance and longer-term support, as opposed to the relatively short-term and performance-related purpose of coaching”, says TIME founder Penny Spencer.

“Right through my own career I’ve benefited from formal mentoring. I’m a passionate believer in lifelong learning, in personal and professional development. It equips you for just about anything, improves your abilities, and sharpens your acumen. That’s the driving force behind TIME’s new Executive Mentoring Program”, continued Penny.

The Executive Mentoring Program will run over a six-month period with weekly, one-hour, one-on-one mentoring sessions. In addition, upon completing the program, graduates will benefit from a pair of 90-minute one-on-one sessions with different TIME Mentors.

TIME’s Executive Mentoring is available to all Executives (Managers, Managing Directors, CEO’s) within the travel and tourism and hospitality industry.
