Tiny Pacific Resort Takes Romance To New Heights

October 25, 2013 Hotel News No Comments Email Email

The Havannah is already renowned as the finest boutique resort in Vanuatu for people for whom nothing but the best will do.
Now the tiny and exquisite resort, a short drive and yet a world away from happy, clamouring Port Vila, is adding three new intimate villas to cater for couples who want it all and then a little more in terms of privacy, intimacy and yet the best of service, food, wine and pampering.

The new villas, built on two levels on a cliff side, will add a new and even more romantic dimension to the resort’s 15 existing beautifully appointed and located villas, set either in their own gardens, beside a lagoon or on the waterfront.
Due to open mid July 2014, they will be set 12 metres apart for privacy. This means you can live outdoors pretty much all the time if you wish, with the king size bed indoors complemented by a large shaded outdoor bed.  And what could be more romantic than bathing under the tropical skies in your own outdoor bathroom? It’s connected to the indoor bathroom if all those stars make you feel shy.

Each villa will have its own 6m x 4m heated infinity pool and a dining “nakamal” with built in BBQ. Chefs are available to cook for you here if you can’t bear to leave your own private paradise for two.

Take a few steps down from the indoor/outdoor living spaces of your villa into a whimsical private sundeck suspended on the cliff and with a stairway to a private beach.  It’s a Pacific take on an English folly, enhancing and embracing the natural surroundings and built for no purpose other than to give pleasure.

In line with the seclusion of such a small resort, and because the location overlooking Samoa Point provides a tranquil, romantic and relaxed atmosphere, the resort only accepts guests over 16. Of course if you want to have it all to yourself you can arrange sole use of the resort and invite children if you wish. But there are no folding or rollaway beds provided.

The Point Restaurant with 270-degree views over Port Havannah has high quality organic local food and French, Australian and New Zealand wines. Or order a private romantic dinner served on the resort’s palm frond bowered jetty.
