Channel 9’s Today Show will broadcast weather crosses from two locations on the NSW South Coast next week, showcasing some of the region’s best attributes and attractions to a national audience of more than one million each day.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall, said that the broadcasts will take place at Huskisson in Shoalhaven on Wednesday 9 August and Shellharbour on Thursday 10 August.

“These broadcasts will highlight the pristine, unspoilt NSW South Coast and have been secured with the support of the NSW Government, through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW,” Mr Marshall said.

“This region of the State has so much to offer visitors, and these weather crosses will see them attract the attention of hundreds of thousands of potential visitors from right around Australia.”

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said the weather crosses are part of the “Unspoilt” campaign which is currently in-market.

“The campaign between Shoalhaven City Council, Eurobodalla Shire Council, Kiama Municipal Council, Tourism Shellharbour, Sapphire Coast Tourism and Destination NSW, is designed to increase overnight visitation to the South Coast,” she said.

“It has proved highly successful in driving visitation throughout the Winter and Spring periods by showcasing the crystal-clear waters, spectacular beaches and stunning national parks on the South Coast”.

Content featured in the Shoalhaven broadcast will include the region’s array of fresh produce, Indigenous experiences, wildlife and water activities. While for the Shellharbour broadcast, the region’s adventure experiences, picturesque beaches and love of the outdoors will be showcased.

The weather crosses will play every half-hour from 06:15am to 08:36am on Wednesday and Thursday morning, and will be broadcast across the Nine Network and Nine Regional Television Network. The activity follows the broadcast of weather crosses in Kiama, Merimbula and Narooma.
