Romacorp, Inc., parent company of Tony Roma’s, announces the opening of its newest restaurant in Kuching, the capital and most populous city in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. Romacorp’s franchisee, Grand Companions Sdn Bhd, operates nine other Tony Roma’s locations throughout Malaysia.

“Tony Roma’s has become one of the most recognized brands in Malaysia, and we’re excited to continue to grow the brand and bring our world famous ribs to fans throughout Malaysia,” said Stephen Judge, President and Chief Executive Officer of Romacorp, Inc. “Dickson Low and the Grand Companions team are excellent operators and have built a strong brand through their irresistible and innovative lamb and beef ribs, vibrant and fun dining experience, and fantastic service.”

Located in the new VIVACITY Megamall in the heart of a bustling residential and business district, the restaurant provides Kuching’s residents and business people the opportunity to enjoy Tony Roma’s signature food for multiple dining occasions throughout the day. The VIVACITY Megamall includes four levels of shopping, a department store, supermarket and an 8-screen cinema. The 4,200 square foot Tony Roma’s restaurant seats nearly 200 people and has a bar serving beer and wine, plus an outdoor dining area.

“We are celebrating 10 fantastic years since we first brought Tony Roma’s to Malaysia by opening our 10th restaurant,” said Dickson Low, Chief Operating Officer for Grand Companions Sdn Bhd. “This location is the largest standalone dining establishment in Kuching, and we’re very confident it will be a rousing success for years to come, as well as provide an amazing dining experience for all.”
