Tour as per convenience in the palace city

egtmedia59‘Mysore on Wheels’ hop-on-hop-off services is launched by KSRTC in association with Karnataka Tourism to work as transport-cum-guide connecting all major attractions in the palace city.

Geo Fencing of attractions for voice announcement is being introduced for the first time in India. Buses fitted with GPS devises will start playing the recorded audio about the attraction automatically, some 500 meters before reaching the tourist spot.Mysore palace

Arvind Jadhav, Additional Secretary to Government Tourism Department, Karnataka, said: “Hop-on-hop-off buses will aid in connecting tourists to far off attractions in the tourist city while providing the flexibility of spending time at their own pace. Passes are valid for three days and can be utilized on any one day.”

St. Philomina Church at MysoreBuses leave every 15 minutes from the city bus stand and ply to 16 locations covering a total distance of 36 kilometers.  Jaganmohan Palace, Mysore palace, Ganapathi Sachchidananda Ashram, Uttanahalli temple, Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi hills, Nandi statue, Karanji Lake, Mysore zoo, St. Philomena’s Church, Kalamandira, Kukkarahalli Lake, Crawford Hall, heritage building and the Dasara exhibition grounds are covered on route.

Magnificent Mysore Palace with domes, turrets, arches, colonnades, carvings and art work is the key attraction of the city. Jagmohan Palace houses a museum with rare artifacts, including Raja Ravi Verma’s famous paintings. Gothic style St. Philomina’s Cathedral is one of the largest and marvelous churches in India.

Gold pass (Volvo air-conditioned bus) for a day will cost US$ 1.6 (Rs 100) and the Silver pass (city transport bus) will cost US$ 1(Rs 60). Online booking of the passes is possible. Tickets are available onboard and can be bought anywhere. Monument entry tickets are made available onboard to save time
