Explora Introduce New Explorations By Horseback
SOUTH American eco-adventure operator explora has introduced two new programs based on exploration on horseback to provide a hands-on experience of exploring the diversity of Chile from a different view point.
Explora chief executive Jesus Parrilla said that although the riding activities have always been at the very core of the explora experience, for people of all levels, these new programs focus solely on riding adventures that fill a growing demand in this specialized travel niche.
He added, “With a great collaborative effort between wholesalers and explora, we are fulfilling a demand. After months of careful itinerary design and planning, we are absolutely confident that the new programs can compete head-to-head with the best horseback riding program anywhere in the world”.
The new programs will be available in Patagonia and Atacama and consist of five days and four nights, with one departure per month from each property from October this year.
They have been designed for confident horseback riders with previous experience as some of the day rides can be physically demanding and require participants to have a certain level of knowledge and skill for trekking on horseback for extended periods of time.
Both explora properties, Hotel Salto Chico in Torres del Paine National Park and Hotel de Larache in Atacama have on-site stables run by local gauchos who train and tend all the horses. The horses often come from explora’s stud farm in central Chile where they have been bred and trained especially for travellers to ride them.
