Tourism Association of New Mexico Launches National Search for CEO

The Tourism Association of New Mexico (TANM) announces it has begun a national search for a new CEO and is accepting resumes through February 21, 2014.

The job description is available on the TANM website, and resumes may be sent to info(at)tanm(dot)org.

“We are searching for a competent organizational leader to advocate on behalf of the tourism industry of New Mexico,” said Board President Richard Holcomb. “The CEO will plan membership programs, oversee fundraising and set annual goals that are attainable with the support of a diverse membership and board. An effective communicator is a must.”

Formed in 1987, TANM is known as the “voice of the industry” and is a membership based, nonprofit organization that educates legislators, industry and the public regarding the economic impact of tourism in the state. TANM also seeks to expand the tourism market for NM while helping to create positive experiences for visitors through member collaboration and work with the NM Tourism Department. TANM puts on the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism each spring as well as the Research & Marketing Conference each fall. The tourism industry in NM contributes $5.5 billion to the state’s economy each year and employs over 85,000 people.

TANM has an active board that advises the CEO, who is staffed by an assistant. The CEO will work in the city of his/or her choice but must be mobile and willing to travel extensively throughout the state as well as attend select national conference(s). The CEO will be able to live in any city within the state as a base.
