Tourism Authority of Thailand Promotes Thailand as a World Class Wedding Destination

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Sydney Office will promote Thailand as a world-class wedding destination through a number of campaigns and events throughout 2017, targeting the wedding and honeymoon market.

TAT kicked off a year of campaigns by participating in ‘The Ultimate Bridal Event’ which was held in Sydney and Melbourne in January. TAT’s presentation at the expo generated a great deal of interest, with many visitors showing interest in Thailand as a wedding destination.

One of the campaigns rolled out earlier this year called “Thailand Wedding Destiny”, which is aimed at promoting Thailand as a wedding destination, as well as promoting Thai wedding organizers in the global market, offered nine lucky couples from nine countries the chance to win a wedding in Thailand. Countries included in the campaign include Australia, The Republic of China, Hong Kong, Japan, England, France, Republic Czechoslovakia, USA and Brazil, and the prize includes the opportunity to have both Western and Thai-style weddings within four regions of Thailand. The venue chosen for wedding celebrations by the lucky Australian couple who won this year is the Intercontinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort, a five-star luxury hotel in Surat Thani.


TAT will also be hosting the 4th Annual Destination Wedding Planners Congress, in Phuket from 2nd May to 4th May, bringing together high end destination wedding planners under one roof to meet a lavish spread of organizations – extravagant hotels, resorts, chateaus, and venues along with leading wedding suppliers and creative partners. TAT is expected to attract 450 delegates from around the world.
