The Unique Tourism Collection has been appointed Australian representative for the Tourism Council of Bhutan.
The Sydney-based travel and tourism marketing and communication specialist will be responsible for sales, marketing and media activity working closely with industry partners and media and developing strategic opportunities for driving Australian business to Bhutan.
The Tourism Council of Bhutan adheres to a policy of ‘High Value, Low Impact’ tourism, which is founded on the principle of sustainability, meaning that tourism must be environmentally and ecologically friendly, socially and culturally acceptable, and economically viable.
Bhutan does not limit tourist arrivals. Tourism is now the government’s top priority. The Royal Government of Bhutan recognises that tourism, in affording the opportunity to travel, can help in promoting understanding among people and building closer ties of friendship based on appreciation and respect for different cultures and lifestyles.
Tourism in Bhutan today is flourishing. The Kingdom of Bhutan declared 2015 as ‘Visit Bhutan Year’ to celebrate His Majesty the 4th King of Bhutan’s 60th birthday. To commemorate the occasion, special attractions, events and festivals have been taking place throughout this year across Bhutan.
Mr. Damcho Rinzin, Head, Marketing and Promotion Division said there would be a major marketing and sales focus in 2016 on Australia, which provides significant visitor arrivals to this popular holiday destination.
“More than 2000 Australians currently travel to Bhutan each year for relaxation and adventure, staying in stunning properties and enjoying an array of wonderful experiences,” said Mr Rinzin.
