Tourism Malaysia is delighted to announce that it has recently appointed Mr Ahmad Esa as the new Director of Tourism Malaysia Sydney effective 3 January 2017, replacing Mr Roslan Abdullah who has returned to Malaysia after serving 3 years in the role.
Mr Esa has accumulated more 25 years’ experience working in the travel and tourism industry, and will bring a wealth of invaluable experience and knowledge to his new position.
One of Tourism Malaysia’s most senior and accomplished executives, Mr Esa first joined Tourism Malaysia in 1991 and has undertaken a wide variety of leadership roles within the organisation including heading up Tourism Malaysia’s overseas directorates in both Milan and Jakarta, and also serving as Director of both the Sabah and Johor State Tourism Offices.
In his new role he will be responsible for Tourism Malaysia’s Australian promotional efforts, with Australian travellers continuing to be a key market for Malaysia, and will also oversee the operations of its Sydney office.
Mr Esa holds a degree in Mass Communication (Public Relations) from MARA Institute of Technology, Malaysia.
