Tourism Portfolio expands reach into Central & Eastern Europe

Tourism Portfolio continues to expand its collection of leading European destination management companies (DMCs) with the announcement today of an exclusive representation deal with renowned Central Europe specialist IMS.


 Headquartered in Vienna, with wholly-owned full-service offices in Budapest (Hungary) and Prague (Czech Republic), IMS has since 1986 worked with an impressive client base that boasts many Fortune 500 companies.

IMS has distinguished itself by providing a one-stop resource when it comes to creating and managing ‘stand-out’ bespoke incentive programs, conferences, product launches and large-scale corporate events.

 Owner and CEO Michael Schillinger says IMS sees significant potential in the Australasian MICE market and the appointment of Sydney-based Tourism Portfolio – effective 1 June 2016 – is an important step in promoting the company’s unique products and services.

“IMS offers vast experience in handling incentives and corporate meetings in Central and Eastern Europe, and with Donna Kessler and Tourism Portfolio as an extension of our sales and marketing team we look forward to increasing our presence in the Australasian market,” says Schillinger.

 Tourism Portfolio Managing Director Donna Kessler says there is growing demand for destinations beyond the traditional European gateways.

Tourism Portfolio’s new relationship with IMS follows the company’s recent appointment as exclusive sales and marketing representative for two of Europe’s most experienced and respected destination management companies – Edinburgh-based K&N Travel Associates and Dublin-based A Touch of Ireland.

Kessler says Tourism Portfolio will continue to add new destinations, but only by forging relationships with the travel industry’s most recognised and respected DMCs.
