Tourism Solomons reports that after yesterday’s civil unrest, Honiara today remains calm with people going about their daily routines.

Tourism Solomons CEO, Josefa ‘Jo’ Tuamoto said it appeared as if everything was back to normal with people going to work as usual.

The city’s traditional early morning ANZAC ceremony led by the Australian High Commission also took place.

Mr Tuamoto advised that Solomon Airlines had taken the step of cancelling its usual Friday Brisbane-Honiara service and the airline had contacted those passengers affected.

“But apart from that it appears that it’s very much business as usual for the Solomon Islands capital this morning,” he said.

Further information will be advised as it comes to hand.
