Towards Sustainable Agribusiness and Agro-industry in Indonesia

A number of agricultural associations in Indonesia have teamed up to stage the largest agribusiness event in Indonesia entitled: the Agri and Agro Festival 2013. To take place at the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), in Jakarta from 29th November to 1st December 2013, the Festival carries the theme : “The Rise of Sustainable Agribusiness and Agro-industry in Indonesia’s Progress towards 2030”.


For a full three days, the event , which is supported by 12 Ministries will feature exhibitions, seminars, business forums, talk shows, workshops, product demos, art and cultural performances, and various competitions. The event will also be highlighted by the MAI Award presentation and  a variety of entertainment stages in the 34 provincial pavilions of Taman Mini.

The Agri and Agro Festival 2013 will also transform the area around the Fire Monument of Taman Mini  into  an authentic Indonesian rice field complete with supporting equipment including plows, harvesting tools, irrigation systems, and more.

There will also be an Indonesian Fish Market Pavilion at the TMII’s Lake which will showcase the wealth of Indonesian seas complete with seascapes, fishermen boats, docks, fish nets, and everything related to fishery in Indonesia.

The Agri and Agro Festival is a collaborative work of the Agribusiness and Agro-Industry Society of Indonesia (MAI), The Association of Provincial Governments of Indonesia (APPSI), the Association of Regencies of Indonesia (APKASI), the Association of Agricultural Education (PERHIPTANI), and the Association of Bussines Women of Indonesia (IWAPI).
