An impressive list of global power brands have recently chosen the Dusit Thani Guam Resort and the stunning island of Guam as the place for major incentive travel events and conference.

Toyota, Suzuki, Michelin Tire and Rotary International are among those who have all brought or are about to bring large groups to experience Guam’s charm including its exotic countryside, ancient Chamorro culture and exciting activities on land and water.

The groups choosing Guam’s main hotel and convention center, the Dusit Thani Guam Resort, hail from Asia and the U.S.  Toyota for example brought 500 people from Japan for an incentive reward program while an incentive group of 2,200 came with Suzuki Japan.

In September a 100-strong group from Michelin Tire Taiwan stayed at the resort as an incentive reward and from the U.S. a group of 100 from the World War II Museum in New Orleans were guests in February 2018 and have booked to return in February 2019. Looking ahead, the Rotary International Japan Conference will bring 1,400 delegates in February 2019.

The Dusit Thani, Guam’s newest 5 star resort, is situated on the island’s magnificent Tumon Bay, and offers panoramic views from its 421 well-equipped rooms, suites and villas. Its Grand Ballrooms can host up to 2000 people for a ceremony and up to 1500 for a dinner.

Kenneth Hill, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Dusit Thani Guam Resort who will be at IMEX America says: “We’re delighted to welcome all these leading organisations and their groups. Their names are strong testimony to the high quality of facilities, service and experience that we and the island of Guam offer.”

Pilar Laguana, Director of Global Marketing for the Guam Visitors Bureau says: “The growing interest from the MICE sector and holiday travellers in Guam over the past 12 months has been encouraging. In August this year we had the highest number of visitors ever to arrive here in the month of August and we’ve seen a significant increase in holiday makers from North America with more tour operators offering packages to visit here. This helps to expand interest in Guam as a MICE destination as well.

“The rise of ‘bleisure’ as an increasing influence on destination choices for meetings and incentives is also in our favor. The beaches, jungle and unique Chamorro culture are powerful attractions and considerations when event organizers are looking for a fresh destination that offers new and interesting leisure experiences before or after a business event.”

The Guam Visitor Bureau, along with Dusit Thani Guam Resort, will be exhibiting at IMEX America 2019 in Las Vegas from October 16 to 18 on booth B4629.
