Tracking More Airline Seats, In More Markets: FlightView Now Offers the Most Comprehensive Flight Information in the World

FlightView just took the lead as the most comprehensive provider of flight information globally, with real-time insight on nearly 90 percent of all airline seats in the world.

“We have a very strong reputation for delivering the most accurate, reliable information in the industry, for the markets we’ve long covered,” said Mike Benjamin, CEO of FlightView. “A recent, major investment in our data repository dramatically expands our coverage and enhances our products, giving airlines, airports, travel tech providers, passengers, and those picking them up all of the information they need on just about any flight, both domestic and international. And if there happens to be a rare flight someone needs that we don’t currently have, we’ll get it – if it’s available.”

All of FlightView’s business and consumer offerings – including data feeds, web content, mobile sites, mobile apps, and terminal and gate displays – integrate global flight information from more than 350 airlines, across five continents, providing travelers, friends and family, and staff with the most complete and reliable day-of-travel information in the industry. The coverage helps overcome several industry-wide flight information problems as well, including coverage for internationally connecting flights flown by multiple airlines, flights operated by a different airline than that from which the ticket was purchased (marketing code share flights), and the location of the inbound aircraft for a desired outbound flight.

“Easily accessible, comprehensive information is a top priority for building an excellent customer experience,” said Benjamin. “The more informed travelers are, the more they are able to take control of their travel experience.”

Currently, more than 133 airports are employing FlightView products to improve efficiency and communicate critical information to travelers. FlightView’s servers – which also power its travel apps on the iPhone and Android – respond to more than 200 million requests for flight information every month.
