Tramada Profiles Accommodate Passport Gender X

October 24, 2017 Tech No Comments Email Email

Tramada’s 5.4 release over the weekend included an upgrade in profile descriptions to accommodate a third category of gender, Unknown. In addition to assisting travel agents to populate a gender field for GDS processing purposes when the gender of a traveller is truly unknown, this option now allows for Gender X to be captured.

In 2011, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade began issuing passports to sex and gender diverse applicants, identifying them as M (male), F (female) or X (indeterminate/intersex/unspecified). Australia and New Zealand are among the ten countries so far to include Gender X as an option for that portion of the population who have either been born with an indeterminate sex at birth or who are in the process of gender transition.

“Our profiles can now better reflect passport gender for Australia and New Zealand and the eight other countries who recognize Gender X.” Susan Enners, Country Manager Australia and New Zealand.

Tramada System will soon be accepting passport and visa scans to be held in the traveller profile, ensuring greater accuracy and higher document security for all Tramada’s clients’ travellers.
