Travelport, a leading travel commerce marketplace providing distribution, technology, payment and other solutions for the $7 trillion global travel and tourism industry, has today announced a long term renewal of its travel commerce platform agreement with Travel and Transport, the fifth largest travel management company in the U.S. with over $2 billion in annual sales.

The new agreement builds on a 32-year relationship between the two companies and will see Travel and Transport leverage several industry leading solutions including:

  • Travelport Smartpoint — the Smartpoint agency desktop helps travel agents achieve immediate productivity gains, reduce costs, training needs and improve customer service;
  • Travelport e-Pricing™ — allows travel agencies, corporate travel buyers and online shoppers to shop, price and book low fares faster and more accurately than ever before;
  • ARNE — Automated Exchanges and Refunds (ARNE) provides agencies with a fully automated process and eliminates the time consuming manual calculation of ticket exchanges and refunds for participating carrier’s North American tickets.  This process reduces time for refunds and exchanges by up to 70%, freeing travel agents to concentrate on processing more bookings.

 Bill Tech, chairman and CEO, Travel and Transport, said, “It is wonderful when two companies are able to work well together for so many years. That does not happen without mutual respect and trust for each company and their team members. We are very happy with the direction Travelport is taking with the development of their technology and look forward to our continued partnership.”

According to Scott Hyden, managing director, Sales, Americas, “Booking premium seats or other ancillary airline content through multiple systems is inefficient – travelers are demanding more.  With Smartpoint, Travel and Transport agents can access and sell, in an integrated single display, fares and ancillaries from all participating airlines.” Added Hyden, “Travelport has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Travel and Transport and we are delighted to see our partnership continue, delivering the enhanced differentiated content, functionality and technology they require to improve efficiencies, grow and succeed.”
