Travel Counsellor take a bite out of the Big Apple

A group of Travel Counsellors from all over Australia recently got to experience five days in one of the world’s most popular cities on an exclusive rewards trip as winners of one of the head office run monthly challenges which was hosted by New York Tourism.

Selma Mangan, Nadine New, Claire Johnston, Kirsty Love, Michaela Roberts, Teresa Sirinotis, Susan Burns, Elizabeth Keller, Eleonora Passarella, and Anne Dugdale from the Travel Counsellors Head Office, all flew to New York from Sydney courtesy of American Airlines.

Over five action-packed days, the group got to experience some of New York’s quintessential travel moments including admiring world-famous art at the Guggenheim Museum, taking in the view from the top of the Empire State Building, walking along the regenerated rail road known as the High Line, and listening to the stirring voices of the Harlem Gospel Choir.

With time spent at a variety of hotels including Viceroy Central Park, Hotel Edison, AKA Times Square, Hotel Beacon, Roosevelt Hotel, The Wyndham New Yorker and the Intercontinental Barclay, the group were very impressed with the quality of accommodation on offer in New York.

“We did quite a few hotel inspections on this trip and I’m glad we did, because I was able to see such a wide variety of hotel rooms and suites. New York really does have something for everyone. History buffs might like the Art Deco Roosevelt Hotel while business travellers might prefer the AKA Times Square with its impressive business centre and rooftop lounge,” says Nadine of Perth.

“This trip opened my eyes to how much New York has to offer. After all these years of being a top tourist destination, New York’s still got it! I look forward to telling my clients about all that I experienced on this famil and hopefully I’ll be booking many New York trips for my customers in the future,” says Eleanora of Melbourne.
