Melbourne Marathon

With a team of more than ten enthusiastic Travel Counsellors representatives and their families taking part in everything from the brisk three kilometre walk to the challenging half marathon, the day was a huge success for everyone involved.

With temperatures creeping towards 30 degrees Celsius, support and encouragement came in the form of head office staff and family members who came along and cheered on the team at the finish line. Afterwards, a barbecue lunch and drinks gave everyone the perfect opportunity to relax, mingle and celebrate the achievements of everyone who took part in the event.

This included Victoria based Travel Counsellor Trish O’Brien, who completed the three kilometre walk with her family and Travel Counsellor colleagues. She comments; “Being a part of the Melbourne Marathon on such a lovely, sunny day was a pleasure made even greater by sharing the walk with the Travel Counsellors team and my daughter Audrey, who came along with me. It’s great to be part of a company that genuinely cares about the wellbeing of its agents and staff, and the sense of camaraderie on the day was very special.”

“Fostering a greater sense of wellness while working is something that Travel Counsellors not only supports, but actively encourages,” comments Travel Counsellors Australia General Manager, Tracy Parkinson. “We empower our staff and agents to achieve good work-life balance, supporting them in both their professional and personal lives. Plus as our agents run their own businesses from home they have the freedom and flexibility to work in a way that suits them, which frees up more time for family, relationships, personal goals and fitness.”

Tracy Parkinson was joined by other Travel Counsellors participants including: Trish O’Brien and daughter Audrey, Tina Millington and husband Rob, David Phillips and wife Trish, Sue Bradford and family, and Lynda Reid and family. Collectively they raised money for a number of charities including Alzheimer’s Australia.
