Travel Counsellors events reveal ‘how to flourish as a travel professional in the 21st Century’

“Don’t just survive, flourish” is the key message Travel Counsellors chairman and founder, David Speakman, and directors will be delivering at three exclusive breakfast events being held by the company next month, focused on how travel professionals can adapt and be successful in the 21st Century.

“Forget the fact that we are home-based – that’s not the issue,” says Mr Speakman. “The key to any agent’s success is being allowed to do what they are best at – selling. If you take all the administration, marketing and back office work off an agent then they can concentrate on building their business, whether they’re working from home or in an agency office with a shop front. Travel unnamed (1)Counsellors have an incomparable track record of helping agents succeed. Fundamentally it’s our unique ‘care and trust’ approach which has created thousands of long term, super-loyal customers, resulting in an average repeat business rate of almost 80% and a world beating customer satisfaction score (NPS) of over 90%.”

Travel Counsellors are inviting travel industry members to the events in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, where the company will share an insight into the secrets of building a successful travel business in today’s ever changing market. Mr Speakman will be tackling the biggest challenges facing travel professionals today, discussing the importance of issues such as financial protection and showing how the use of psychometrics, psychology, care and ground breaking technology can enable agents to rise above the threat of customers booking on the internet.

“Customers now have the tools to book travel arrangements themselves so as an agent you much ask yourself what is your USP?” says Mr Speakman. “It’s not about price; it’s about the value you create in the service you provide. You must connect with each and every one of your customers. We are focused on teaching our Travel Counsellors how to do this. Our agents concentrate on building these emotional attachments and we do everything else. It works and that’s what makes us different. I very much look forward to discussing these challenges and sharing these insights at the events.”

The company’s Commercial Director Kirsten Hughes and Sales Director Malcolm Hingley will also be joining David to present at the events. They have a myriad of experience within the industry and will give their own unique insights in the changing world of travel and how to embrace the commercial and sales opportunities as an agent in today’s market.
