Travel Counsellors gather in Melbourne for biggest company event yet

Travel Counsellors from across Australia will gather for the one of the biggest events in the company calendar this week to hear about all the latest news, updates and developments that will enhance the support provided to the growing number of agents in the country.

The Travel Counsellors Conference Australia will take place 28th February to 2nd March and will be held at the iconic Crown Melbourne, situated in the heart of the Melbourne, on the banks of the Yarra River. There will be over 170 delegates in attendance including over 80 of the company’s agents plus the company’s directors, head office staff and a host of vibrant guest speakers and unnamed (4)suppliers.

Travel Counsellors Australia General Manager Tracy, who will be in attendance and presenting at the event alongside a number of other company directors, says; “There is no doubt it has been an year of big changes for the industry, but we are firm believers in the power of positive thinking and know events such as our annual conference are truly inspirational and motivating for our agents in Australia. This year will be no exception and we will be making a host of new announcements and initiatives to help our travel counsellors keep in touch with their customers and grow their businesses. It’s important we continue to be innovating when it comes to customer service which is at the heart of the business and is the reason that we continue to buck the economic trend.”

As the most important event on the company calendar in Australia, the conference will enable the company’s Travel Counsellors to enjoy a weekend full of exclusive events and activities focused around helping them build their businesses, keeping them informed of the lasted news and developments within the company. It also gives the company’s agents, who all run their travel businesses from home, the chance to come together and celebrate the company’s success. Suppliers in attendance will be exhibiting at the special Pow Wow session on Saturday, giving agents a chance to meet directly with representatives from a host of tourist boards, wholesalers, hotels and airlines and learn more about their products and destinations. Agents are also rewarded for their hard work at an annual awards ceremony and gala dinner on Saturday evening.

Sessions within the conference will include a focus on the Travel Counsellors’ ‘switch on’ theme, which provides agents with a structured program and success formula for them to follow when running their businesses from home. The key elements of the system are being pro-active, producing sales, building customer relationships, keeping in contact with these customers and staying involved with company activity.

Parkinson adds; “Our sales in Australia and across the world are booming. Since the beginning of the year bookings are up 31.7%, with commission figures nearly doubling for our Australian agents.
