Travel Counsellors is proud to be named in The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 Ones to Watch league table, ranking Britain’s mid-market growth private companies with the biggest sales. This is the first time the independent, global travel company has been recognised on this prestigious list, and Travel Counsellors are thrilled to be acknowledged for their impressive and continued growth in sales.
Steve Byrne, Managing Director at Travel Counsellors said: “This has been a phenomenal year for us so far in terms of sales and international growth, and we have no intention of slowing down. Being recognised as ‘Ones to Watch’ is yet another reason to believe our unique, home-working franchise-based support model really works. We empower our Travel Counsellors and give them the tools and support to build personal relationships with their customers and offer an exceptional, bespoke travel service. This makes us stand out from the crowd and brings customers back to us again and again”.
The international company operates across seven markets: UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia, UAE, and most recently, Belgium. Global sales for the financial year end (31 October 2014) reached $867 million, and the organisation is on track to exceed financial targets in 2015. Currently over 1400 Travel Counsellors manage their own businesses, with a surge of new travel professionals joining this year.
The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table ranks Britain’s mid-market growth private companies with the greatest sales, compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times in October. Recent players featured on the list include Virgin Active, Pret A Manger, and ao.com. Companies listed have sales ranging from $292 million to $1.3 billion, representing the tier down from Top Track 100 largest private companies – an accolade Travel Counsellors is hoping to achieve in the near future.
Steve added: “Our business continues to grow year on year, regardless of the economic climate, reflecting the importance of building personal relationships with our customers to understand what makes the perfect travel experience for them. Travel Counsellors armed with this in-depth knowledge, award-winning proprietary technology, and 24 hour support from Head Office, have helped the company gain an unrivalled customer satisfaction score of 96%*, secure nearly 70% repeat business, and achieve record sales and profit in 2015. *Travel Counsellors uses the Net Promoter® Score (NPS) system to measure customer satisfaction. Two weeks after booking customers are sent a simple question: ‘How likely is it that you would recommend your Travel Counsellor to your friends and colleagues?’ Customers can give us a score ranging from 1 to 10. Since Travel Counsellors started measuring our customer responses in 2007, it has consistently achieved a world leading score of over 90%, far higher than that achieved by other travel companies and putting it alongside the small minority of companies worldwide that are rated this highly by their customers.
