Travellers Choice is pleased to announce that one of the most sustained periods of growth in its 37 year history is continuing this month with the addition of another five member shareholders across four states.

  • Travel and Cruise Professionals, Adelaide (South Australia)

A multi-award winning agency launched in 1983 by Brian Bennett in Parkside, a suburb in Adelaide’s east. Bennet is one of Australia’s most successful cruise consultants.

  • B & P Travel & Cruise, Mt Gambier (South Australia)

Another multi-award winning South Australian agency, B & P Travel & Cruise has served the Mt Gambier community for more than 30 years. The addition of the company, founded by Michael Brooksby, further strengthens Travellers Choice’s unrivalled regional network across South Australia.

  • Endeavour Travel & Cruise, Cairns (Queensland)

Based in the large Smithfield Shopping Centre in the north of Cairns since it was established by founding partner Mike O’Leary in 1988, the company boasts one of the most experienced teams in Australia.

  • Travel Design, Sale (Victoria)

Sale’s first travel agency was established in the 1960’s by crop duster Neil McInnes, who saw a need for commuter flights between the Gippsland region and Melbourne. McInnes’ small aerial service soon evolved into a full-service travel agency. Current owner Peter Emms began working in the agency as a consultant in the 1980s and acquired the business in 1996 when McInnes retired.

  • Collie Travel and Cruise (Western Australia)

Owner and manager Barbara Jones established the agency in 1997 and has since built a strong presence in Collie, a small coal mining town set in the middle of dense jarrah forest in Western Australia’s South West region.

Chief Executive Christian Hunter says the exceptional calibre of new member shareholders is further enriching Australia’s leading network of independent travel agents.

“The Travellers Choice model – which combines low fees with a broad range of support services and an ownership structure in which our members are the Company’s sole shareholders – is continuing to attract well-established, highly-successful travel enterprises run by people who bring enormous amounts of experience and expertise to their roles,” says Hunter.

“All of these businesses deliver a positive contribution to our group – financially and culturally – and that value ultimately flows through to all Travellers Choice shareholders.”
