A total of 30 member shareholders – all winners of Travellers Choice’s coveted Choice Awards, which reward agencies for delivering the highest levels of support for preferred suppliers – will take part in three separate journeys this month.

First to depart will be Gold Choice Award winners, who travel on an elegant Azamara Club Cruise voyage from Hong Kong to Japan, and Silver Choice Award winners, who will explore Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands as they float down the Rhine on an APT river cruise.

Later in the month, Journey Beyond – one of Australia’s leading experiential tour operators – will take 10 Bronze Choice Award winners from Rottnest Island to the Blue Mountains, with the trip incorporating three nights’ on the legendary Indian Pacific.

Managing Director Christian Hunter says that one of the most valuable aspects of the Choice Award journeys is that they are exclusively for agency owners.

“That means members not only experience key destinations and products, they also get to engage with other like-minded business owners,” says Hunter. “The professional and personal bonds that form as a result of these award trips are priceless.”

In addition to the Choice Award trips, Travellers Choice has over the past few years strategically expanded its broader program of educational journeys, with members having more opportunities than ever before to explore a wider range of destinations and experiences.

“During 2018/19 almost 200 Travellers Choice members will embark on exclusive educational trips – a 28% increase on the previous financial year,” says Hunter. “But our focus has not simply on offering more educational itineraries – we are also working closely with our preferred suppliers to design trips that enhance our members’ knowledge of key destinations, sectors and product developments.

“That approach has, for instance, created some unique opportunities for Travellers Choice members to gain first-hand experience of important cruise products and explore regions that are traditionally under-represented.

“Ultimately, it’s about ensuring every educational journey our agents take offers the maximum value to our members and our partners.”
