Hadrian’s Wall … a highlight of Peter Sommer Travels’ first incursion into Britain.

Archaeological tour specialist Peter Sommer Travels has announced its first tours in Britain, delving into extraordinary historic sites ranging from Neolithic monuments and Roman ruins to medieval castles and Georgian mansions.

Two itineraries will be introduced in 2017, each exploring some of the most scenic regions of the UK under the care of expert guides with backgrounds in history and archaeology.

The seven-day ‘Exploring Wessex: From Neolithic Avebury to Georgian Bath’ itinerary explores such highlights as the Neolithic stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge, the remarkable mosaics at the Roman Villa of Chedworth, the towering Cathedral at Salisbury, the picturesque ruins of Glastonbury Abbey and the Georgian grandeur and Roman legacy of Bath.

The Parisian Macao … a fresh addition to Macau’s neon-lit Cotai Strip.

Visitors to Macao, especially the Asian city’s neon-lit Cotai Strip, can indulge in some additional pampering thanks to the recent opening of two new resorts, the Wynn Palace Cotai and The Parisian Macao, which have increased the number of accommodation, dining, touring and day-spa options.

Seabourn Encore … an encore season Down Under.

The newest addition to Seabourn’s small-ship fleet, Seabourn Encore, will offer an encore Australian season in 2017-18.

After spending its first summer cruising local waters in early 2017, the 600-guest ship will offer five 16-day voyages in the region between December 2017 and February 2018.

Prices start from $14,499 per person twin-share for a 16-day voyage from Sydney to Auckland, visiting New Zealand ports such as Tauranga and Wellington, as well as Philip Island and Melbourne.

At the end of its three-month stint Down Under, Seabourn Encore will depart Sydney on an 18-day voyage along the Queensland coast en route to Bali, with prices again starting from $14,499 per person twin-share.

Tigerair Australia has added more than 25,000 additional seats to meet increased demand across four popular domestic routes over the upcoming summer peak travel period.

The additional services have been added to the following routes for travel in December and January: Melbourne-Gold Coast, Hobart-Melbourne, Cairns-Melbourne and Perth-Sydney.

The majority of the extra services have been added to the Melbourne-Gold Coast and Hobart-Melbourne routes.
