Travellers head to the NT

March 11, 2014 OTA News No Comments Email Email

An increase in holidaymakers are set to ‘Do the NT’ as a result of a recent campaign between leading travel website Wotif.com and Tourism NT.

Wotif.com Product Director Donna Rodios, said the recent two-week Do it today, talk about it forever campaign had boosted accommodation bookings for Northern Territory suppliers on the leading travel website.

“During the campaign we saw a 28 per cent year on year booking increase for participating suppliers on Wotif.com,” Ms Rodios said.

“It’s great to see participating suppliers reaping the benefits of this joint campaign which helped cross-promote our wealth of deals for accommodation, flights, packages and activities for this must-do destination. The campaign was supported with TV advertisements on Foxtel as well as a host of print and digital advertising.

“According to our booking data, the campaign also had a flow on effect for all suppliers in the region, with the campaign resulting in a 8 per cent increase in bookings across all Northern Territory suppliers listed on Wotif.com.

“The NT, and Darwin in particular, has been growing in popularity in recent years, with Aussies increasingly keen to explore all on offer in our expansive ‘backyard’ – so it’s not surprise this campaign has resulted in drawing more travellers to the area.”

Tourism NT, Executive Director Marketing & Communications, Adam Coward said the strong results confirm the importance of its cooperative campaign strategy.

“Wotif.com is a key partner for Tourism NT and we will continue to work closely together to ensure that NT product is front of mind for the consumer and that our cooperative marketing activity provides information on how to do the NT whilst motivating the consumer to book now,” Mr Coward said.
