INTERNATIONAL Rail, Australia’s only locally owned dedicated rail specialist, has the recently released Japanese ‘Suica Card’ available for Australian travellers, a perfect accompaniment to the popular Japan Rail Pass to combine rail journeys between cities as well as metro trains and buses.

This convenient card is a prepaid e-money card for transport and shopping; items such as food and beverages on the train, items at kiosks at the train station and also to purchase items from the very popular unique vending machines on platforms.

It can be purchased through http://www.internationalrail.com.au/city-transport-sights/city-transport/tokyo-suica-card.aspx#AN for $36 and comes with a credit of JPY1,500 (approx. A$36) and can be topped up to a maximum of JPY 20,000 in Japan.
