TravelManagers’ 2013 national conference ended on a high with awards to their personal travel managers and national partnership office staff at an awards ceremony on Friday evening.

The venue was the Ice Skating Rink named after the Voyager of the Seas Godmother Katarina Witt, adding to the intrigue and excitement of the occasion.

TravelManagers’ Chief Executive, Joe Araullo thanked all of the TravelManagers team including personal travel managers and the national partnership office staff for their hard work, dedication and commitment and praised them for the outstanding results they had achieved in 2013.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our people. They are consistently outstanding at what they do and take such pride in their work, ensuring everything is centered on ensuring the client is always top of mind and at the centre of what they do,” says Araullo.

The announcement of the Top 10 Personal Travel Managers of the Year is always a highlight with seven of the 10 being named last year also. This year saw brother and sister John and Julianne Gazal-Rizk representatives from New South Wales both named independently in the top 10.

The supreme award of Personal Travel Manager of the Year went to John Lengacher, a third time winner, having previously won in 2008 and 2009, who says he was thrilled.

“It was the perfect end to what has been a brilliant conference. I am just so happy to have won, it’s been a tough year and I’ve worked hard but this shows me that it has all been so worthwhile. I can’t wait to tell my clients, they will be just as excited as me.”

TravelManagers pride themselves on their supplier relationships and award a special prize every year called the Partner Supplier of the Year. This year it was awarded to Qantas Holidays a finalist since this award was initiated three years ago but a first time winner, Araullo says it is testament to them in terms of product range, quality and service with two of our personal travel managers having recently achieved Global Achievers status.

“You couldn’t ask for a better partnership with a supplier. They are incredibly supportive of what we do and are always keen to come on board to help with training, educationals and marketing initiatives. They are genuinely interested in TravelManagers and particularly in our personal travel managers.”
