TravelManagers, Australia’s leading personal travel manager network closed its 2013 national conference on a rapturous high with thunderous applause and incessant cheering to the announcement that the 2014 national conference would be held in Singapore next August.

It was a first for TravelManagers to announce the date and venue for the next year’s conference at the current conference. The announcement, at the end of the Awards presentation aboard the Voyager of the Seas on Friday 9 November, was met with huge enthusiasm.

Marinabay National Day- Andrew Tan (3)“Singapore Airlines, a premium supplier has been a major influence through its long term relationship and support of TravelManagers and we are extremely grateful for their support for our 2014 conference,” says TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager Michael Gazal.

Singapore Airlines flies from six Australian gateway cities directly to Singapore and has been a well-established and popular stopover destination en route to Europe.

“The 2014 conference provides an opportunity for personal travel managers to familiarize themselves firsthand with the destination and new product as it grows as a re-energized destination in its own right,” says Gazal.

Recognition of the personal travel managers’ loyalty and longevity of service will also be rewarded. One hundred personal travel managers who have reached their five-year milestone will receive free conference registration and airfares to Singapore, which has been met with much enthusiasm by the personal travel managers.

“I am so proud to be part of a dynamic company and I am grateful every day for joining such a professional, supportive and fun group of people. I can’t wait for the next one in Singapore. To receive complimentary airfares and registration for my five year partnership with TravelManagers is overwhelming, I was quite emotional when this was announced,” says personal travel manager Melinda Pigott representative for Jindabyne.

In addition, personal travel managers who complete training and issue at least one policy by 31 March 2014 with TravelManagers new premium insurance partner, Allianz Global Assistance will receive complimentary conference registration.

The 2014 conference will be TravelManagers seventh national conference and the first to be held in August. The change of month from November to August, expected to be a permanent change, has been met with extreme excitement from the personal travel managers.

“I am very excited that the dates have changed for next year so that I can now attend. I was so disappointed not to make this year’s conference and look forward to catching up with everyone for a Singapore Sling at the long bar next August,” says personal travel manager Melanie Whyte representative for Devonport.

TravelManagers will continue to host its highly successful regional meetings twice a year in seven or more locations around Australia in March and November, complimenting the offshore national conference in August and supplemented by regular inter-state cluster meetings.

“We’ve been holding local regional meetings with our personal travel managers since 2008. We find it’s a great way to ensure everybody is kept up to date with developments in our business,” says Gazal.

Gazal says the TravelManagers’ approach is all about belonging and making sure personal travel managers know the company only succeeds when they succeed.

“An overriding objective for all our regional meetings and national conference, and in fact everything the national partnership office does with the personal travel managers, is to create a sense of family and encouraging the understanding that we are all working together towards one end. It’s all about mutual success,” he says.

The TravelManagers 2014 national conference will be held 15-18 August 2014 at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore.
