Suzanne Laister and David McCarthy from the National Partnership Office congratulate Ric Pattaro, “Best Travel Consultant – Corporate” at 2014 NTIA, for being one of TravelManagers “Top 10 Personal Travel Managers” nationally.

The venue was the Stamford Ballroom at the Swissotel the Stamford, which is an extremely fitting location to celebrate the best of Singapore, adding to the intrigue and excitement of the occasion.

TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager, Michael Gazal thanked all of the TravelManagers team including personal travel managers and the national partnership office team for their continued hard work, dedication and commitment and praised them for the outstanding results achieved in another record year.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our people. They are consistently outstanding at what they do and take such pride in their work, going the extra mile and inspiring our customers proving the personal travel model really does work. The client is always top of mind and at the centre of everything we do and these awards are in celebration of our top achievers,” says Gazal.

The announcement of the Top Ten Personal Travel Managers of the Year is always a highlight with eight of the ten being named last year also.

The supreme award of Personal Travel Manager of the Year went to John Gazal, who was unable to attend this year’s conference but says he was honoured and humbled by the award.

“Winning this award means so much to me. The calibre of our personal travel managers is so high and all are worthy winners. My focus on service and genuinely looking out for what is in my clients’ best interests has really paid dividends with my business going from strength to strength this year,” he says.

The award for New Personal Travel Manager of the Year was won by a highly surprised yet thrilled Lea Burford, representative for Frankston South, Victoria.

“Wow this is such a surprise and I am so honoured to have won this prestigious award.  I knew from the moment I joined the TravelManagers family I had made the right decision and now to win this award really has topped this off as a fantastic first year. I can’t wait to tell my clients, they will be just as excited as me.”

Burford’s award win for New Personal Travel Manager of the Year came as no surprise to Gazal.

“After being with TravelManagers for only six months, Lea had her business already operating at such a high level she took the opportunity to house sit in Queensland for six months, taking her family and her business with her!  Lea is a true example of how innovative thinking and using technology to her advantage makes her business really mobile. That’s the fantastic thing about being a personal travel manager you make it work for your lifestyle,” he says.

TravelManagers pride themselves on their supplier relationships andaward a special prize every year called the Partner Supplier of the Year. This year it was awarded to Freestyle Holidays, Gazal says it is testament to them as a supplier.

“You couldn’t ask for a better partnership with a supplier. Freestyle Holidays are incredibly supportive of what we do and are always keen to come on board to help with training, educationals and marketing initiatives. Whilst the award is based on service you can’t argue with their success with TravelManagers achieving a sales growth of 259 percent on a very solid base and strong growth the previous year. They are genuinely interested in TravelManagers and particularly in supporting our personal travel managers,” he says.

“Singapore has proven to be a fantastic conference venue. The added benefit that our personal travel managers have experienced firsthand the exciting new tourism developments the city has undergone over recent years will prove invaluable for their clients. We know our 2015 conference venue in Adelaide will prove to be equally as interesting and rewarding,” says Gazal.

The 2014 TravelManagers national conference was held from 15 – 17 August at Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore.
