TravelManagers Congratulate PTMs On Being Avis Scholarship Finalists

TravelManagers’ personal travel managers (PTMs) Kim Mason representative from Cronulla in Sydney and Nakita Byrne from Mount Arthur in Dubbo has been nominated as finalists for this year’s 2017 Avis Travel Agents Scholarship of Excellence.

For the first time in twenty-one years, all four finalists, three from Australia and one from New Zealand are home based consultants.

“Whilst some may view the home-based consultant concept as a greenfield distribution channel, there is no doubting its place and growing importance in the industry as a whole.  By having two out of the four finalist nominations as personal travel managers further highlights the acclamation of TravelManagers as Australia’s market leader in the rapidly growing home-based consulting segment,” says Executive General Manager Michael Gazal.

Kim Mason – Personal Travel Manager

Gazal congratulates Mason and Byrne on their achievement.

“Everyone at TravelManagers is absolutely delighted that Kim and Nakita has been recognized in this way. The ease in which both PTMs makes clients feel valued, understand their needs by providing expert advice and efficient and consistent service, together with the ability to go above and beyond the call of duty for their clients is what sets these PTMs apart from the rest of the industry.”

Mason having been a personal travel manager since 2006 feels extremely honoured to be chosen as a finalist for this excellence in customer scholarship.

“I feel so honored to be recognised for simply doing what I love! I pride myself on providing a point of difference, whether it be in value, expertise, service or advice to my clients. I always look for ways to share my knowledge and experiences, to optimise my client’s travel experiences and minimize inconvenience. It’s the little things like suggesting a limousine ride or booking a private cooking class that I know will absolutely make my clients holiday the best it can be, and continues to be my motivation.”

Byrne is relatively ‘new’ to the TravelManagers family having joined the company in March 2014, yet she is very much at home.

Nakita Byrne – Personal Travel Manager

“I am extremely humbled to be announced as a finalist for the Avis Travel Agents Scholarship of Excellence. Having joined TravelManagers as a PTM just three years ago, I’ve come to love the freedom and flexibility. I pride myself on making my clients feel valued by providing expert advice and personal experiences to make their travel experience the best it can be. Providing consistent and outstanding service and genuinely looking out for what is in my clients’ best interests is the key to my success,” says Bryne.

The four finalists will attend the awards dinner on Monday 13 November at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney where the winner of this years’ Avis Travel Agents Scholarship of Excellence will be announced.

Gazal highlights that the road to being ‘crowned’ this year’s winner is not an easy one.

“In addition to the initial written submission, finalists will need to provide an oral submission of prepared and impromptu questions to members of the judging panel. We have the utmost confidence in Mason and Bryne and wish them every success.  No matter what the outcome is on 13th November, they are both winners already in our eyes.”
