TravelManagers Support Philippines Relief Efforts in Response to Typhoon Haiyan

Personal travel manager Tania Pickering, representative for Ballajura in Western Australia was overwhelmed by the fantastic response she received from fellow personal travel managers requesting help with relief supplies in response to devastating typhoon Haiyan.

TMA WA in the Container“It was a last minute request to rally support to help pack and load a container of relief supplies and it was so heart-warming to see such a fantastic response from the TravelManagers’ team,” says Pickering.

Personal travel managers Michelle Edmead representative for Roleystone, Erryn Morris representative for Gooseberry Hill and Marietta Mandl representative for Hillarys; together with business partnership manager Alison Banks and Erryn and Michelle’s teenage daughters offered to help without hesitation.

“It was an amazing feeling to help and the generosity of the Australian people blew us all away,” says Banks.

Balikbayan Boxes established a donation point within their own home. It was quickly and overwhelmingly filled by generous donations from the public including water, medical supplies, toiletries, blankets, canned foods and clothes.

Michelle Edmead and Daughter Jaime Packing Dry Goods“When I arrived, the house, backyard and driveway were filled to the brim with bags and bags of donations. We quickly started the sort through this array of goods. It looked like an impossible task, but after a few hours of very hard work the container started to fill. I don’t care about my sore arm muscles today, it was worth it. I feel so very proud of TravelManagers Australia,” says Mandl.

Support has been widespread across the entire TravelManagers’ Australian network with their national partnership office also a collection point for relief supplies.

“I love how the entire TravelManagers team has got behind supporting the relief efforts for the Filipino people. It’s another great example of TravelManagers’ support of the community,” says Executive General Manager Michael Gazal.
