Premium travel operator Travelmarvel is taking bookings for an exciting new tour that combines the rare opportunity to see Lake Eyre in flood with the chance to experience the new Field of Light installation at Uluru.
The 7-day Lake Eyre & the Red Centre Tour operates between Adelaide to Uluru and Travelmarvel is offering a choice of five departure dates in May and June 2016.
Priced from $3,595 per person twin share, the tour offers two nights each at the Wilpena Pound Resort, Coober Pedy’s Desert Cave Resort and Uluru’s Desert Gardens Hotel.
The tour is designed to give travellers the chance to experience Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre in full flood following this year’s significant rainfalls.
A rare occurrence, when the lake is in full flood it takes on an unusual pink hue due to the presence of algae. The region becomes a temporary haven for botanical and bird life.
As one of the main highlights of their tour, Travelmarvel guests will have the opportunity to enjoy an included scenic flight over Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre to witness its full glory.
Additional highlights include the opportunity to explore the Flinders Ranges National Park and experience the iconic Uluru, taking a base walk and visiting the rock domes of Kata Tjuta.
At Uluru guests will also experience the new Field of Light art installation by Bruce Munro, featuring more than 50,000 stems crowned with frosted-glass spheres that will bloom as darkness falls.
Included in the price is six nights premium accommodation, 14 meals, premium air conditioned coach travel, services of Travelmarvel Tour Director, sightseeing and airport transfers and porterage.
The fully escorted tour is expected to sell out quickly.
