River cruising along the Lower Ganges, leopard safaris in the Sri Lankan hills and dinner with an Everest summiteer are just a handful of the highlights of Travelmarvel’s newly launched India, Sri Lanka and Nepal program.

The new brochure offers guests the choice of nine itineraries. Ranging from nine to 32 days in length, all feature premium accommodation and superior restaurants as standard.

TM INDIA 1415 Cover LgeCommenting on the new program, Travelmarvel General Manager, David Cox, says, “Despite their contrasts, all three countries featured in the new brochure share the same captivating, colourful and cultural appeal. Through our itineraries, we’ve blended the highlights from each, adding to them high quality hotels, renowned restaurants and some fantastic sightseeing experiences to create premium holidays at incredibly competitive prices. We believe it’s a unique product in the market and we are confident that our new itineraries will generate a great deal of interest.”

At the heart of the India program is the eight-day Lower Ganges Cruise priced from $2,995 per person, twin share. Sailing aboard the new custom-built, 22-suite, RV Rajmahal, guests will enjoy an authentic glimpse of the real India. The cruise stops at several villages as it meanders from Kolkata to Murshidabad, with sightseeing highlights including rickshaw rides, Palaces, temples and the chance to meet local people. The cruise disembarks in Farakka, where guests are escorted by a Travelmarvel team of guides and helpers, travelling first class by train, back to Kolkata, where they enjoy a Bengali lunch at award-winning restaurant, Oh! Calcutta.

The cruise is combined with a six-day land tour to create the 15-day Colours of India. Priced from $5,495 per person, twin share it commences with three nights in Delhi. Guests stay at the ITC Maurya and enjoy a rickshaw ride around the Old City, as well as a Bollywood performance at Kingdom of Dreams. This is followed by a night in Agra staying at the Jaypee Palace Hotel and enjoying the Taj Mahal at Sunset, then two nights at the Jaipur Marriott Hotel, including a cooking class and lunch, before embarking on the Lower Ganges cruise.

Extensions to Varanasi and Kerala also feature in the program. The latter features a deluxe overnight stay on a house boat, cruising the Kerala backwaters.

Sri Lanka

A 12-day Splendours of Sri Lanka land journey takes in all of the country’s highlights. Guests stay at the luxurious Aliya Resort & Spa, enjoy a cooking demonstration, browse handicrafts and spices at Kandy Market, relax on pristine beaches, embark on an exciting leopard safari in Yala National Park and explore the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya. Prices start at $3,495 per person, twin share.

The new nine-day A Taste of Nepal land tour forms the basis of Travelmarvel’s new Nepalese offering. Comprising four nights in Kathmandu, two nights in Chitwan National Park and two nights in Pokhara, guests are invited to meet dine with a successful Mount Everest summiteer and hear their story of conquering the world’s highest peak. They will also travel to the heart of the jungle in search of one-horned Rhino’s and Bengal tigers and sail on a traditional Shikara boat to their lakeside retreat at Begnas Lake Resort and Villas. The trip is priced $2,995, per person, twin share.
