Travelmarvel Serves up a True Taste of Tassie

Travelmarvel’s latest Tasmania program offers guests a true taste of life on the ‘Apple Isle’, serving up a tantalising range of itineraries and some delicious new Insider Experiences.

Travelmarvel’s four itineraries range from 5 to 10 days in length and between them, showcase the length and breadth of the Island.

TM Tasmania 1415 Cover HR‘A Taste of Tasmania’ is a dominant theme throughout each, with guests on tours that commence in Launceston enjoying an exclusive welcome reception drinks and canapés at the Design Centre of Tasmania before enjoying a special welcome dinner.

Other food-inspired Insider Experiences on the program include a special Tasmanian tasting plate at Tall Timbers in Smithton; a waterside dinner at the historic Customs House Hotel Restaurant in Hobart; a buffet dinner at View 42° in Strahan; a Gordon River luncheon cruise; a feature breakfast at the Best Western Plus in Launceston; a lavender-inspired food tasting at the Bridestowe Lavender Farm; and the chance to learn about cheese making while sampling wares at the Ashgrove Cheese factory.

Travelmarvel is offering special stays at superior accommodation, all with easy access to the best sights of Tasmania. Highlights include alpine retreat, Cradle Mountain Hotel; Tall Timbers in Smithton; and the Tudor-style Fox and Hounds Inn in Port Arthur.

Commenting on the new brochure, Travelmarvel General Manager David Cox said, “Tassie is best known for its stunning scenery, fresh produce, first class accommodation and its warm hospitality. We’ve packed our latest program with as much of these highlights as possible and we look forward to treating our guests to a true taste of Tasmania.”

Accompanied by a dedicated Travelmarvel tour director, guests will tour the island travelling aboard a luxury air conditioned coach, discovering hidden treasures, visiting remote locations and immersing themselves in local life. Also included in the price of all tours are most meals, all sightseeing, cruises, tours and entrance fees as specified and airport transfers on the first and last day.

Most popular tour is the 10-day Grand Tasman which circumnavigates the Island from Launceston via Ross, Port Arthur, Hobart, Strahan, Cradle Mountain and Smithton. Priced from $3,145 it includes a guided tour of Beaconsfield Mine; the chance to explore Freycinet National Park with a naturalist guide; a cruise around the Isle of the Dead; a sightseeing tour of Hobart, including a visit to Salamanca Market; and a Gordon River cruise with a tour of Sarah Island.

Gourmet highlights include special welcome and farewell dinners, dinners at Tall Timbers, View 42° and Custom House Restaurant; and visits and tastings at Ashgrove Cheese Factory and Bridestowe Lavendar Farm. Special stays include Cradle Mountain Hotel, Launceston’s Best Western Plus, Strahan Village Hilltop and Smithton’s Tall Timbers Hotel.

Travelmarvel is offering a choice of three Earlybird Special booking offers. These include a 10 percent discount if you book and pay for your Tasmania holiday 12 months before the tour departs, a saving of up to $630 per couple. Alternatively guests who book and deposit any holiday before the 31 July 2014 will save up to $300 per couple. Solo travellers can also enjoy 50% off the solo room supplement on selected tours and dates, saving up to $475 per person.
