Last week, Travelport, in conjunction with Galileo Indonesia and Tigerair Mandala held a special event in Jakarta for travel agents in Indonesia to mark the launch of the new distribution partnership between Travelport and Tigerair, announced in late 2013.

Over 195 agents attended the event, an impressive figure given the extreme weather conditions and flooding that has hit Indonesia’s capital in the past week.

Travelport’s partnership with Tigerair Mandala is part of a significant new agreement with Tigerair’s three Asian airlines, (also including Tigerair Singapore and Tigerair Philippines) which sees Tigerair content available via the Travelport GDS. Tigerair is also the launch carrier in the Asia Pacific region to adopt Travelport Aggregating Shopping technology which consolidates, within the same screen, shopping results from traditional carriers who connect through ATPCO with those from Tigerair and other no-frills carriers who prefer to connect with Travelport via an API connection.

Paul Rombeek, President Director of Tigerair Mandala, said, “Tigerair Mandala as Tigerair Group’s affiliate in Indonesia is delighted with this strategic collaboration with Travelport. With the ever increasing routes that we offer to our passangers, travel agents in Indonesia will have easier access to book our flights and this additional sales platform will definitely provide more access for consumer to our products and services.”

Raymond Setokusumo, Owner of Galileo Indonesia, Travelport’s distributor in Indonesia, added, “The event was a fantastic way to officially launch Travelport’s new partnership with Tigerair Mandala and we’re excited to introduce Tigerair content to provide more choice to both travel agency customers and travellers in the region.”
