The news comes on the back of Travelport Locomote’s recent launch in the UK as part of its global expansion plan for 2017. The Aussie travel tech company has ambitions to double in size by the end of 2017 to support its ambitious expansion strategy.

The new hires, which will predominantly be based from Travelport Locomote’s Melbourne HQ, will cover every level of expertise as the company looks to expand. Roles will vary from executive sales roles to software engineers helping to develop the already advanced travel technology platform

Sandra McLeod, CEO of Travelport Locomote, said: “We have big ambitions to redefine the corporate travel space and to do that we are committed to expanding our already stellar team with exceptional talent. Ours is a competitive space and to succeed you need to be the best. Our people create and drive the excellence for which Travelport Locomote’s technology is known and we are committed to continual investment in our culture and in our team.

Minister of Small Business, Innovation and Trade, the Hon. Philip Dalidakis has welcomed the announcement, saying: “Travelport Locomote is another great local success story that shows when you have bright ideas and the right support to help them grow there are no boundaries to what you can achieve.

“Victoria is leading the country in tech and startup growth and the calibre of companies being produced here should leave no doubt that we are truly a global competitor.”

Travelport Locomote is a highly intuitive corporate travel platform which allows all travel activity, whether online, offline or a mix of the two to be managed seamlessly. Much more than an online booking tool, Travelport Locomote’s range of app-powered workflows consolidates the entire travel lifecycle. This empowers travel managers to drive behavioural change in their travellers and achieve a leap in program efficiencies that goes further than the usual single focus on online booking.

The platform is currently used across a range of industries including education, legal, banking, insurance and not-for-profit; with clients such as World Vision Australia, University of Melbourne, Allen & Overy and Credit Union Australia.
