Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Nepal

July 4, 2019 Headline News No Comments Email Email

TIA is an International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, located in the Kathmandu Valley about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from the city center of Kathmandu.

TIA will be resuming operation for 21 hours from July (2019), which will help to ease out the air traffic congestion currently faced at the main Nepal airport.

The runway of the country’s sole international airport Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has been expected to come into full fledged operation from July as the rehabilitation work of the runway is all set to be complete, the airport officials said.
After completion of the runway rehabilitation, TIA will begin the construction of taxiway from September 1.

Around 400 flights, including 100 international flights, are being operated from TIA every day. With this upgradation, TIA management expects the air congestion problem to ease and the airport to be better managed.
