Tripadvisor Announces Partnership With Thailand-Based Minor Hotel Group, Enrolling Over 65 Properties To Tripadvisor Business Listings

TripAdvisor®, the world’s largest travel site*, today announces a partnership with Minor Hotel Group (MHG), one of Asia’s leading luxury hotel groups, with its head office in Thailand.

Over 65 properties under MHG have signed-up for TripAdvisor Business Listings, a hotel marketing tool that enhances a property’s visibility to TripAdvisor travellers. According to MHG, TripAdvisor Business Listings have not only helped deliver quality traffic to its hotel websites, the bounce rate1 for traffic originating from Business Listings is also substantially lower than other sources of traffic.

Of the MHG properties that have upgraded to Business Listings since October 2013, all 30 of the hotel group’s acclaimed  Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas brand have signed up, as well as 27 from its Oaks Hotel & Resorts portfolio, three from its AVANI Hotels & Resorts brand, and a number of individual properties owned by MHG. These properties join a growing number of top Thai hotel companies including Centara Hotels and Resorts, Dusit Thani Hotels and Resorts, Onyx Hospitality, as well as a large number of independent hotels and B&Bs that have embraced TripAdvisor’s suite of marketing tools to increase exposure and drive more bookings.

TripAdvisor Business Listings is a subscription-based service for individual properties that can increase the exposure for subscribers by adding their direct contact information—such as a website link, email address and phone number—to their property pages on the site.  In addition, properties can capture the attention of travellers by adding Special Offers, which gives their business added exposure on high-traffic areas such as the search results page on the site.  The Mobile Upgrade for Business Listings further enables property owners to add customised Special Offers to their property profile on TripAdvisor’s mobile website and popular apps for smartphones and tablets, increasing visibility in front of travellers on-the-go.

“We have already seen a very positive ROI from our TripAdvisor Business Listings subscription for our Anantara properties, including reaching the break-even point on our initial investment after just two months. We are confident that TripAdvisor Business Listings will continue to deliver our properties more exposure to TripAdvisor travellers and increase revenue through our direct booking channels,” said Marcos Cadena, Group Director Electronic Distribution for MHG.

“TripAdvisor Business Listings has delivered highly qualified and interested visitors to our hotel websites. The average bounce rate for visits originating from Business Listings to is 21% lower than the average bounce rate from other sources. Additionally, we also see higher levels of engagement from TripAdvisor visitors who spend an average of 15.02 minutes browsing time versus only 9.01 minutes from other sources. This is great news as highly engaged visitors naturally mean better conversions,” Cadena added.

To date, more than 69,000 accommodations globally have upgraded to TripAdvisor Business Listings to take advantage of TripAdvisor’s suite of advanced marketing services. Business Listings subscribers also have access to the Property Dashboard, which includes a full spectrum of analytics such as competitor metrics, local market trends, key visitor details, so that property owners can use the intelligence to develop stronger strategies for their business.
