TripAdvisor hits 100K experiences globally

TripAdvisor has multiplied their inventory tenfold since 2013, and experienced tremendous growth following the launch of the self-service marketplace platform in 2015. In 2017 alone, inventory grew by 48%, while TripAdvisor-sourced bookings more than doubled. The Attractions business is TripAdvisor’s largest long-term growth opportunity outside of hotels, and was the key driver in the non-hotel businesses’ revenue growth of 24% last year.

Our recent major milestones:

  • July 2014: TripAdvisor acquired Viator
  • November 2014: Launch of the supplier API
  • April 2015: Launch of marketplace, our self-service platform for suppliers
  • 2015 – present: Our largest growth phase

○      5x inventory from the launch of marketplace until today

○      We expanded from traditional tours and activities into new product categories (wineries and breweries, cooking classes, private tours)

  • TODAY: Sunset Catamaran Cruise in Panama City Beach, Florida becomes the 100,000th product
