trivago, the world’s largest hotel metasearch, announces its acquisition of Base7booking, a cloud-based property management system (Cloud-PMS) startup.
Base7booking´s advanced cloud platform gives hoteliers access to competitive technology, while trivago has access to over 120 million monthly travelers worldwide. An integration of both platforms will enable hoteliers to easily connect with millions of travelers and drive direct bookings through their own website.
“We are aiming to unveil significant synergies and to unlock enormous opportunities for hoteliers and travelers. trivago, with Base7booking, envisions hoteliers moving from pen-and-paper operations to digital property management, competitive direct booking capabilities and rates on trivago with just a few clicks. This is going to be a big step towards empowering hoteliers to drive bookings through their own website,” says Johannes Thomas, Managing Director at trivago.
Joining forces with Base7booking will enable hoteliers to keep control over their bookings and retain their entrepreneurial freedom. A recent Phocuswright report* states that two thirds of hoteliers are planning to increase their efforts in the direct booking channel. trivago and Base7booking want to leverage this momentum and ensure that hoteliers are successful with this.
The Base7booking Cloud-PMS platform was built by innovative Swiss hoteliers, who were unsatisfied with the technology that was available on the market. The team at Base7booking decided to create a platform which offers a rich set of tailored functionalities that help hoteliers to manage their property efficiently. Online accessibility via the cloud enables unparalleled flexibility. It allows hoteliers to operate and communicate with their hotel regardless of where they are. The platform is available in 17 languages, and hoteliers from more than 40 countries are currently operating their property with Base7booking.
Frank Martin, Hotelier and Founder of Base7booking, says: “We are passionate hoteliers, dedicated to improving the increasingly demanding lives of other hoteliers. Our cloud platform makes technology accessible and saves them plenty of time and money. We are very excited to join trivago as it will give Base7booking hoteliers access to their 120 million travelers.”
