Teaming up three of their enduring passions: truffles, culinary travel and Tasmania, truffle grower and Director of Melbourne’s truffle festival, Truffle Melbourne, Nigel Wood and epicurean and former Vue de monde events co-ordinator Leisa Latham are hosting a behind the scenes private aircraft weekend visit to the Tamar Valley and Flinders Island in August 2015.

“Our focus is on providing exceptional guest service and bringing together innovative artisan producers with those who appreciate these things, and of course showcasing the wonderful food and drink partnerships which truffle offers,” says Wood.

“Managed with skill, this exceptional ingredient brings out the best in matched food and drink partners. It’s through working with talented producers that extraordinary tastes are brought to the table. That’s what this weekend is about – gathering insights from those who are dedicated to producing the best in their field and sharing that knowledge with those who appreciate it,” adds Latham.

This exclusive trip includes chauffeured transport to Essendon jet base, a check in at a distillery while the butler transfer guests’ baggage to the terminal, return private air travel to Tasmania and Flinders Island, luxurious bespoke accommodation at Red Feather Inn, a private truffle hunt, lunch with selected Tasmanian artisanal producers, a truffle cooking class at Red Feather Inn, a degustation dinner at Tasmania’s best truffle restaurant, Stillwater and a whole day on remote Flinders Island with quirky Island producers sharing their stories and Truffle Hunt Club’s private chef creating beach-side masterpieces with local produce and truffle. Limited to 10 adventurous travellers, this weekend is one of Australia’s most unusual and outstanding culinary adventures. This trip is one to tick off the bucket list.

Fine Tasmanian truffles will feature in every meal from truffled canapés on arrival, delicious truffle breakfasts to the most stunning degustation dinner, culminating in day-long feasting on Flinders Island’s best produce, teamed with truffle.

This once in a lifetime trip is $4400.00 AUD per person and numbers are strictly limited. More information is available at
